What Is Energy Balancing Technique?
Energy Balancing Technique (EBT) is based on a wellness concept sometimes described as an energy mismatch. This is not an established medical diagnosis. In practice, people may explore EBT in relation to substances or situations such as:
- Foods (e.g. egg, milk, gluten, peanuts, shellfish)
- Environmental agents (e.g. pollen, grass, mould, dust)
- Personal care or household products
- Chemicals, cosmetics, medications
- Animal dander and epithelial proteins
True allergic reactions involve the immune system and should be assessed using medically accepted methods. EBT should not be described as resetting the immune system or correcting the body’s recognition of allergens. We use it only as a complementary wellness technique.
How the Energy Compatibility Test Works
The process may include an Energy Compatibility Test, a non-invasive wellness assessment used within the EBT approach. It is not a medically validated allergy or intolerance test and should not be used to diagnose whether a substance is safe or harmful.
- Correctly categorizes a substance as safe or harmful
- Misidentifies a beneficial item as dangerous
- Fails to recognize the substance at all
Based on the wellness assessment and your history, the practitioner may discuss a complementary care plan. This should not be considered medical desensitization or a substitute for allergy testing or immunotherapy.
How an EBT Session Is Performed
- Initial Testing:
Patients may hold or come into contact with a sample associated with a perceived sensitivity. Muscle testing or other EBT methods may be used as part of the wellness assessment; these methods are not medically validated diagnostic tests. - Energetic Correction:
Depending on the session, the practitioner may use acupuncture or no-needle techniques within the EBT framework. We do not represent this as resetting the immune system or eliminating a medically diagnosed allergy. - Post-Treatment Guidelines:
Depending on your reactivity, you may be advised to avoid the treated substance for 24–72 hours after the session. - Follow-Up & Retesting:
Follow-up may be used to discuss how you feel and whether any symptoms have changed. EBT follow-up does not confirm that a true allergy has resolved; medically diagnosed allergies should be reassessed by an appropriate healthcare professional.
Session Planning & Expectations
- Sessions are individualized based on your goals and concerns.
- The focus of each visit is discussed with you before the session.
- Concerns about environmental or chemical exposure should be medically assessed when symptoms are significant.
- The number of sessions varies and no specific outcome can be guaranteed.
- Severe or potentially life-threatening allergies require medical care; EBT should not be used for desensitization.
People may seek EBT in relation to concerns involving:
- Eggs, milk, gluten, peanuts, mushrooms, shellfish
- Grass, flowers, perfumes, and animal dander
- Makeup, detergents, and cleaning agents
- Environmental pollutants and industrial chemicals

What Is an Energy Mismatch?
Your body constantly interacts with substances through food, air, touch, and internal processes. When your energy system misidentifies a substance:
- It may overreact, triggering immune or digestive symptoms
- It may underreact, allowing harmful substances to pass unchecked.
- It may be confused, leading to delayed or erratic symptoms.
EBT uses a wellness framework that describes these responses as energetic patterns. This framework has not been established as a medical explanation for immune, respiratory, digestive, or nervous-system disease, so we avoid presenting it as a proven mechanism or cure.
Frequently Asked Questions About Energy Balancing Technique
How much does an EBT appointment cost?
A single Energy Balancing Technique treatment is $110 CAD, with acupuncture included as listed on our rates page. A separate Energy Compatibility Test is $180 CAD. Confirm which appointment you need and the total fee before booking. See our current rates and online booking options.
Is EBT safe?
EBT is generally presented as a non-invasive wellness approach, but suitability depends on age, health history, symptoms, and the techniques used. Children, seniors, and people with chronic conditions should be assessed individually.
Can this replace allergy medications?
No. EBT should not be used to replace allergy medication or emergency treatment. Any medication change should be discussed with the clinician who prescribed it.
How quickly will I see results?
Response varies. Some people may notice subjective changes quickly, while others may not. We do not promise a particular timeline or outcome.
Do you use needles in EBT?
We offer needle-based and no-needle acupuncture techniques, depending on patient preference and sensitivity.
